Highways & Drainage

Negotiating all types of highways and drainage agreements for new developments and existing infrastructure.

It is important that, early on in the development process, developers and local authorities consider the implications of a scheme on existing highway and drainage networks, even where such networks are outside of the development boundary.

We have a team dedicated to working on statutory agreements for highways and drainage. We act for developers, landowners, statutory undertakers and highway authorities. Statutory Agreements we advise on include:

  • Agreements under sections 104/116/185 of the Water Industry Act 1991
  • Agreements under sections 38 and 278 of the Highways Act 1980

We also advise on:

  • Sewer adoptions and requisition advice
  • Highway dedication and adoption
  • Deed of Easements and Bonds in relation to infrastructure
  • Stopping Up orders
  • Diversion orders
