UK law firm Ashfords' planning and infrastructure consenting team has been recognised in Planning Magazine's Planning Law Survey 2026, an annual industry survey which showcases the highest-rated barristers, solicitors, law firms and council legal departments in the planning sector.

Partner and head of planning and infrastructure consenting David Richardson has been recognised individually, ranking 8th among the 'highest-rated individual planning solicitors in private practice 2026' category. The planning and infrastructure team has also received recognition, ranking 14th in the 'highest-rated planning law firms in 2026' category.

David Richardson commented: "I am really pleased to see this recognition of the team’s work in this year’s survey. We are in very good company in the rankings, which reflects the quality of the work we do in our key sectors of housing, public sector and energy. Thank you to our clients and contacts that voted for us. "

The Planning Law Survey captures nominations from solicitors, consultants, developers and local authorities, who are invited to nominate the barristers, solicitors, law firms and legal departments in England they recognise as setting the benchmark for best practice.

Ashfords' specialist planning lawyers advise developers, local authorities and businesses on planning law and policy, dealing with all aspects of the development process. The team also has significant experience in contentious planning matters, including appeals, statutory challenges, judicial reviews, compulsory purchase and compensation.
