UK law firm, Ashfords, has promoted six senior associates and legal directors to partner, effective from 1 September. This year’s promotions take the number of partners to 73 across the firm's five UK offices. The firm has also promoted five new associates and six new senior associates.

Partner promotions this year include Su Apps in the Employment team, Kirsty Cooke in the Employment and Immigration team, Jonathan Croley in the Commercial team and Energy & Resource Management sector, Laura Reeve in the Construction & Infrastructure team, Crispin Jones in the Insolvency & Restructuring team and Katie Webber in the Trusts & Estates team.

This year’s partner promotions include four who started their careers at the firm as trainees, and more than half have been with the firm for over ten years. With women making up over 66% of the promotions this year, women are better represented at partner level than ever before.

Commenting on the promotions, CEO and Partner Louise Workman, explained: "Congratulations to all of our people promoted this year. They all demonstrate a commitment to continued growth and investment in the firm and our clients.  Importantly, they represent what clients look for when they instruct Ashfords – a responsive and accessible legal team that cares as much as they do about getting the right result."

The promotions are part of the firm’s continued focus on growing its business, investing in its people and delivering an outstanding experience for clients. In the last year, Ashfords has been recognised as one of 2021’s most active corporate legal advisers in the South West and in the UK top 20 – a position it maintained in the first quarter of 2022. The firm has also attracted a number of senior lateral hires including most recently partners, Ian Manners in the Business Risk & Regulation team and Carl Thompson, a Construction & Infrastructure partner in the firm’s Energy & Resource Management sector.
