Our experienced real estate finance teamwork with lenders and developers, helping to negotiate and secure finance that meets lender expectation and enables the real estate transaction, investment or development to proceed. 

We act for many of the large commercial banks and financial institutions, bringing together a wide range of skills and experience to ensure that our clients can achieve their commercial objectives.  Acting for both lenders and borrowers means we understand the commercial and legal issues in the negotiation process from both parties' perspectives.

We are experienced in advising clients on sourcing the right funding to achieve their commercial objectives - whether that’s acquiring property or land for residential or commercial development, building or renovating a development or to enable an investment opportunity. 

We can advise at every stage of the process to securing new lending or to put in place refinancing arrangements from negotiating agreements and transaction structure to due diligence and reporting on title.

Our Real Estate Finance experience

•    Acting for a UK based property investment and development group on its refinancing with a UK and Luxembourg based property fund. The work included review and negotiation of a Loan Market Association facilities agreement, intercreditor and subordination arrangements, security documents and satisfaction of conditions precedent, including the provision of certificates of title in respect of multiple retail properties.

•    Advising an Austrian private bank on its loan and security arrangements under English law for the provision of a facility to an individual to acquire a company owning high value residential property in London, including drafting and negotiating the security, reporting on title to the security property and obtaining a legal opinion from lawyers in the Isle of Man.

•    Advising a Swiss private bank on a US$ 50 million term loan facility for the construction of a luxury hotel and villas/apartments, and related security assignments, mortgage and subordination agreements.
