Law firm Ashfords LLP has appointed Melinda Willis as an Associate in its Commercial practice. Melinda joined the firm’s Bristol office in November from Anglo American plc, where she worked on both contentious and non-contentious commercial and IP matters.
Her hire reflects the firm’s continued growth and expansion of its expertise, as well as its ongoing commitment to providing market leading services to its clients.
Melinda was previously a Legal Specialist in IP & Commercial Law at Anglo American plc. In this role, she provided commercial and IP advice to the De Beers Group, notably supporting the marketing operations of the Group's diamond brand, Forevermark.
Her skills range from the drafting and negotiation of various commercial agreements including for the supply & distribution of goods & services, marketing & advertising contracts, non-disclosure agreements, online terms & conditions, agency and other collaborative and bespoke contractual arrangements, to providing more general commercial advisory and corporate support work. Melinda’s in-house experience has also given her first-hand experience of decision-making in relation to legal risk in IP and commercial transactions.
