Ashfords headline sponsor of Taunton Marathon

For the seventh consecutive year, law firm Ashfords LLP is delighted to be the headline sponsor of the renowned Taunton Marathon and Taunton Half Marathon, taking place on 7 April 2019.  

This year, the Taunton Marathon will be supporting the Somerset Unit for Radiotherapy Equipment (SURE), a local cancer charity founded in 2000 to support provision of cancer services at Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton.

The event is one of few in the South West to offer both 26 and 13 mile distances and has a strong reputation on the athletics circuit. It holds a Gold Grade from the British Association of Road Races.

The races start from Somerset College in Wellington Road at 10.30am. Ashfords’ team of enthusiastic runners include Stuart Willis, Rachel Maddocks, Henry Roberts, Charles Davies and Sam Berg.

Sarah Lomas, Partner in Ashfords’ Taunton office, who has previously completed the course herself and this year will be distributing prizes on the day, commented: “This is a fantastic and colourful event for Taunton and for athletes which raises money for our carnival and ultimately for many important local charities. People are welcome to join us at the finish or along the route to encourage the runners - it really helps!”.
