Ashfords headline sponsor for CIWM Gala Dinner 2025

UK law firm Ashfords was the headline sponsor of the CIWM Gala Dinner 2025, which took place on Wednesday 17 September at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole.

A highlight of the sector’s calendar, the gala dinner followed the opening day of the Resource & Waste Management Expo and brought together leaders and innovators from across the waste, recycling and resource management industries. Guests enjoyed an evening of networking, celebration, fine dining and entertainment in the company of those shaping the future of sustainable resource management.

Ashfords' work in the waste, resource management, energy from waste and environmental regulatory sectors underpinned their sponsorship. The team advises both public and private sector clients on the buying and selling and operational issues for waste sites, supports energy-from-waste projects across a wide range of technologies, and advises on regulatory compliance and enforcement issues across the energy and waste sectors such as environmental permitting, pollution control and waste classification.

Brian Farrell, partner and head of commercial and IP, said: "We are proud to sponsor the CIWM Gala Dinner as it reflects our ongoing commitment to sustainable resource management and innovation in the sector. The dinner provided a fantastic opportunity to engage with industry leaders and experts, and to contribute to the conversations shaping the future of regulation, technology, and best practice in waste and resource management."

Ashfords' energy and resource management team is consistently ranked by leading legal directories, including Legal 500, where the team is recognised as tier 1 for Projects, Energy and Natural Resources. The team is also listed in the Legal 500 UK Green Guide 2025 for our work supporting clients in sustainability and the green economy.
