We advise across the full range of legal issues that can arise across the value chain from food safety & hygiene through to protecting brands, securing finance, supply chain contracts, dealing with insolvent suppliers, waste management, distribution contracts and imports & exports.
 
Our sector experience includes:

• Advising on a number of bespoke arrangements with one of the UK’s largest chicken producers in which the technology provider designs, funds and installs the micro-district heating and ventilation systems. Each installation site had a capital value in the region of £1.5m and was intended to improve the welfare of the poultry as well as reducing fuel and input costs.
• Advising an established packager of drink products in its proposed participation in an arable feed stock-based drink joint venture project.
• Advising on restructuring and refinancing of a major UK food producer to improve costs and profits transparency between different elements of the farming enterprise.
• Comprehensive review of environment and health & safety compliance for the UK arm of multinational food producer: producing compliance plans and working with technical consultants to develop solutions.
• Advising a multinational food producer on the defence of Defra-led investigations into food production and quality issues.
• Advising on food additive regulations including maximum limits, prohibited additives and "carry over" rules.
