Work includes drafting and negotiating master service agreements with global providers, preparing customer and supplier contracts, and supporting corporate fundraising and immigration for specialist AI hires. Cross-border scope: UK, US, India, UAE, Australia. Emergency response and triage softwareAdvising a US-headquartered provider of emergency triage software used by the NHS and 999 services, on strategic ventures and licensing. Recent support includes cloud-based deployments, escrow and source code licensing, and a partnership to develop an AI-powered voice assistant for triage calls. Clinical trials platformSupporting a clinical trials provider using AI-powered data and OpenAI licensing. Work includes reviewing licence terms, handling proprietary vs public data as model inputs, and secondments to manage supplier/customer contracts. Clients span UK, EU, and US.

Media, tech and software as a service (SaaS)

AI captioning and accessibility We act for a global leader in AI-powered subtitling and captioning, updating and negotiating customer agreements in the UK and US. Recent work refreshed all enterprise SaaS terms to reflect AI delivery models and cross-border growth. AI-empowered project managementAdvised an AI SaaS provider helping enterprises codify and deliver playbooks. Updated licence terms to reflect new AI features and negotiated a mission-critical enterprise contract under time pressure. Meditation app with AI chatbotSupporting a consumer tech brand on deploying an AI chatbot. We carried out data protection impact and transfer risk assessments, advised on compliance, and supported multiple funding rounds.

Finance and investment

Cross-commodity data licensing for AIHelping, a global price-reporting agency, manage AI use of its datasets. We created modular global template terms, drafted licence clauses for AI training and produced a contract playbook to help business teams manage negotiations with clients, which included household names. Venture capital and fintech investments Perpetual Growth Fund: $50m Series C in Vertice, an AI-powered SaaS spend platform. Mercia Ventures and Qantx: £2.1m into an AI job-matching platform., and £4.5m into an AI analytics firm focused on transport safety. Fintech SaaS rollout Advised a London fintech on contracts and fundraising for its AI capital-markets analytics platform, including a global SaaS and services agreement backed by a major fund manager.

AI for water infrastructure Advised on a joint venture between a utilities company, a tech provider, and a leading university to develop an AI solution for mapping and repairing underground pipe networks. Defence sector AIAdvised a defence technology business on initial licensing contracts for AI solutions in defence and insurance markets, ensuring intellectual property safeguards and regulatory compliance.

AI in Action (1)

On Tuesday 7 October, we sponsored and hosted AI in Action, a dynamic event organised by AI West in collaboration with AI Wales, SW*AID - South West and Wales Women in AI and Data, and Tech4Good South West. The event was hosted at our Bristol office, providing a welcoming space for attendees to connect, collaborate and explore the latest in AI innovation.

The programme featured live demonstrations from start-ups based in Bristol and Wales, alongside female-led initiatives, charities and social enterprises. It was a fantastic opportunity to discover how AI is being applied in meaningful and impactful ways, while engaging with others across the region’s vibrant AI and tech community.

We’re proud to have supported an event that champions inclusivity, creativity and purpose-driven technology. The event reflects our commitment to fostering dialogue and showcasing the positive potential of AI across industries and communities.

The event was held concurrently with the Bristol Festival of Tech, Creativity and Culture, a week-long festival that takes place throughout the city and includes talks, technology demonstrations and performances.
