UK law firm Ashfords has appointed Nick Wrigley as the firm's new Chief Financial Officer. Nick joins the firm from DAC Beachcroft where he was Director of Finance.

Nick has a wealth of experience in finance. Having initially trained at KPMG, he practiced in the UK and overseas and more recently has worked in senior legal finance roles holding board positions in both companies and partnerships.

Ashfords is part way through a five-year strategy focused on growing its core legal advisory work for commercial, real estate and private clients. The firm reported strong financial results at the end of the financial year, with the firm breaking the £50m barrier for the first time, growing by 3% to hit £50.2m. The results triggered a 7% firm wide bonus and like-for-like revenues were up by 7%, following the divestment of the firm’s equity release business in June 2022.

Commenting on his appointment, Nick said: "I’m delighted to be joining Ashfords having seen their continued success underpinned by their strong financial position. I’m impressed by the open and collaborative culture at Ashfords and very much looking forward to working with Louise and the rest of the senior leadership team."

Ashfords CEO Louise Workman said: "Nick will be a great asset to the firm as we continue to focus our efforts on providing outstanding legal services for our clients. We are in a strong position financially following several years of consistent revenue and profit growth; Nick will be integral to maintaining that growth across the business as we look to the future.

Ashfords has appointed several senior lateral hires recently including Banking & Finance partner Melissa George, Commercial Disputes partner Tom Llewellyn and Trusts & Estates partner Mike Westbrook. The firm has also promoted four to its partnership this year and doubled the number of lawyer promotions.
