Biography

Zoe is a Solicitor in the Property Disputes team.

Prior to starting her training contract at Ashfords LLP in 2021, Zoe was a paralegal at Ashfords in the Property Disputes department for three years. Zoe helped to assist the Property Disputes team with a range of contentious matters. This included advising councils with housing disrepair matters, possession matters, injunctions and debt claims. Zoe was also able to run a large number of cases on her own with limited supervision.

She was also able to assist on a range of private client matters including, but not limited to, cohabitation disputes, boundary disputes, removal of charges on properties and assisted in some areas of negligence.

Zoe joined Ashfords in 2018 following completion of her law degree at Plymouth University, in which she obtained a first class degree. Zoe completed the LPC and Masters in 2021 part-time whilst working as a paralegal, in which she obtained a Distinction and started her training contract in September 2021.

Zoe completed the first seat of her training contract with the Banking and Finance team. During this seat, Zoe was able to get involved with a number of matters including acting for lenders in providing loans to a range of individuals and companies and then granting security for those loans. Additionally, Zoe was able to assist with some private client matters which involved family loan agreements.

Zoe completed the second seat of her training contract with the Real Estate team, where she assisted on all aspects of the acquisition, disposal and management of investment properties, including an auction sale, a boundary rectification matter and lease renewals.

Zoe is a committee member of Ashfords' XYBC and is regularly involved in organising and hosting events for young professionals in the Exeter area.

  • Local Authority: Assisting with defending claims for housing disrepair and statutory nuisance under the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
  • Private Individual: Assisting with a complex cohabitation dispute.
  • Private Individual: Assisting with the removal of a historic charge from a property.
