As reported by the Institute of Licensing, the Government is proposing to change planning law passing the onus onto developers to ensure that developments are sympathetic to established businesses such as pubs, restaurants and music venues.  This is a reversal of the present position where residents of new developments have made complaints about such established venues, complaints have even included church bells.
