Covid-19: Court Service prepares to move to greater use of technology

17.03.20

An update from the Lord Chief Justice on Tuesday 17 March 2020 has confirmed that the Court service will look to increase the use of telephone and video technology immediately to hold remote hearings where possible. Emergency legislation is expected to allow for this soon.

Anyone with a forthcoming hearing should check with the particular Court venue for that hearing as to any changed arrangements ahead of hearings.

Parties to litigation should also be aware of their obligations in arranging telephone hearings.

Our dispute resolution lawyers can assist you if you have any queries on how this may impact any litigation which you are involved in.
