Rebecca Stephens

Trainee Solicitor

Biography

Rebecca is a third-seat trainee solicitor in the commercial team, with a focus on general commercial and energy work.

Rebecca's work with the commercial team consists of drafting, preparing and negotiation a range of contracts and agreements, including general commercial, energy and waste.

Rebecca completed her second seat in the commercial disputes team where she assisted with advisory work and pre-action instructions, through to proceedings and enforcement. Rebecca gained particular experience in company and contract disputes, and in debt recovery. Her first seat was in the property disputes team where she again assisted clients throughout various stages of litigation. Rebecca regularly worked on contentious landlord and tenant matters, with a particular focus on housing disrepair and eviction.

Rebecca is elected chair for the Devon & Somerset Junior Lawyers Division 2026. Prior to this, her roles were Secretary and Charity Representative.

Rebecca graduated from the University of Law with a distinction in LLM Legal Practice (SQE 1 &2). Prior to this Rebecca graduated from the University of Exeter with a LLB Law with honours in Law.

Rebecca completed the Summer Scheme at Ashfords in 2022 during her penultimate year of undergraduate study. During her university vacations, she worked in the property disputes team as a paralegal.
