Trainee Solicitor

Biography

Isabel is a trainee solicitor in the commercial team. 

Isabel’s first seat was with the corporate team, where she assisted with mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, company reorganisations and general company law matters.

Before starting as a trainee, Isabel worked as a paralegal in the construction team at Ashfords for two years. Isabel assisted the team with a variety of matters across primarily transactional as well as some dispute work. She has experience drafting building contracts and associated construction documentation, preparing due diligence reports, drafting witness statements and instructions to counsel and preparing trial bundles.

Prior to joining Ashfords, Isabel studied History at the University of Birmingham, obtaining a first-class degree. She then went on to achieve a distinction on the LPC from the University of Law Bristol campus.

Relevant experience

  • Local Authority: assisting with preparing a JCT Design and Build 2016 Contract with amendments.
  • Public Body: drafting bespoke collateral warranties and vesting certificates.
  • Institutional Funder: reviewing and reporting on construction documentation including building contracts, sub-contracts and professional team appointments. 
  • Developer: preparing instructions to counsel, witness statements and exhibits.
