Biography

Emily is a Trainee Solicitor in the Public Sector team.

Emily joined Ashfords in 2021 as a Paralegal in the Construction and Infrastructure team where she completed the first seat of her Training Contract.

During her Construction and Infrastructure seat, Emily assisted the team with both contentious and non-contentious matters. She has experience drafting construction contracts, professional appointments and ancillary documentation and in preparing contract risk reviews and due diligence reports.

Prior to joining Ashfords, Emily studied Law at the University of Exeter, receiving a first class degree with honours.

Relevant experience

  • Exeter City Council: Preparing a due diligence report on building contracts, appointments and ancillary documentation in connection with the acquisition of Guildhall Shopping Centre, Exeter.     
  • Local Authority: Assisting with the drafting of a suite of JCT call-off contracts for a new housing scheme.
  • International retailer: Preparing contractual risk reviews in connection with the preparation of Agreements for Lease, including reviewing various professional consultant appointments and associated warranties.
  • SPV: Preparing ancillary contract documentation for an Energy from Waste EPC Contract, including Contractor and Sub-Contractor Collateral Warranties, an Advance Payment Bond and Performance Bond.
  • Private company: Preparing a due diligence report advising the client on their contractual security in preparation for a company acquisition.
