Ashfords sets up cross-disciplinary team to support clients tackling the myriad of challenges posed by COVID-19

19.03.20

The current Coronavirus situation is moving quickly and we are all facing a new and diverse set of challenges.  Like many of our clients, we have been adapting our business continuity arrangements in response to government guidance and advice and looking to find new workable solutions we can put in place to support both our staff and everybody we work with.

The outbreak of coronavirus, officially COVID-19, raises issues from employment law, health and safety and confidentiality through to supply chain disruptions, restructuring, force majeure provisions and the impact of temporary Government intervention.

Ashfords has set up a cross-disciplinary COVID-19 team comprising experts from its employment, regulatory, corporate & commercial, litigation, data protection, insolvency & restructuring, real estate, private wealth and construction teams to help clients proactively identify and prepare for the legal issues likely to arise and provide practical and comprehensive guidance.

Andrew Perkins, Partner in Ashfords’ Commercial Disputes team is project leading the COVID-19 Team and says: “Ashfords is already seeing a very significant flow of enquiries stemming from the outbreak covering a whole range of legal issues and that seems certain to increase over the coming weeks. We formed the COVID-19 Team to identify legal issues that are becoming more relevant and causing concern to our clients so that we can share our expertise and provide them with practical and legal solutions to help them navigate this situation.”

So, the message is, we are here to help you in this difficult time.
