Ashfords has joined Solar Energy UK to support the organisation and its membership with achieving their objective to deliver the best legislative, policy and regulatory framework for UK solar and storage.

The firm has longstanding and extensive experience of working on all scales of solar projects and is advising on Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects and Developments of National Significance in Wales; this is in addition to large scale rooftop projects, energy efficiency initiatives and energy storage.

Stephen Humphreys, a Legal Director in the Ashfords Energy & Resource Management sector commented:

“Solar is already playing a vital role in the UK’s energy mix - with capacity now exceeding 15GW of installed capacity according to Solar Energy UK.  But, it can deliver more  - not only as a critical part of the jigsaw to delivering our net zero targets but also as part of the solution to our ongoing energy security needs.  There will be challenges ahead, particularly as scale increases, and we’re here to support those facing these challenges.  Solar Energy UK is an essential body bringing together the industry to drive forward the growth we need in solar, and we’re looking forward to working with them and the wider membership to support that objective.”

On welcoming Ashfords to the organisation, Cherry Parker, Business Development Director at Solar Energy UK, stated:

"We are delighted to welcome Ashfords' longstanding experience providing insightful solutions to deliver clean energy for different technologies, including energy storage and grid balancing into our membership and look forward to finding meaningful ways to work together".

Ashfords works with a wide range of businesses involved in developing and investing in clean energy sources, as well as those organisations wanting to access the benefits it can provide; from developers and investors to landlords and utilities – working across the UK and internationally. We also work closely with local authorities in achieving their net zero targets. Find out more about our work in Clean Energy.
