Biography
Oscar is a Solicitor in the Disputed Wills and Trusts Team.
Oscar advises trustees and private individuals on all aspects of contentious Wills, Trusts and Estates.
Oscar frequently advises on applications to Court in respect of trust interpretation and administration, blessings, applications to set aside transactions on the grounds of mistake and/or Hastings-Bass, claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975, executor/beneficiary disputes, breach of trust claims and professional negligence.
Oscar joined Ashfords in 2024, having previously practised at an international firm in London, where he specialised in high-value, international trust and private client disputes and was recognised as a "key lawyer" in the Legal 500. He has particular experience litigating in offshore courts and often speaks at conferences and training events.

- Various clients: Representing trustees and beneficiaries on applications for the removal of non-performing trustees and claims for breach of trust.
- Various clients: Advising on claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975.
- Corporate trustee: Advising a corporate trustee in the private banking sector on a complex blessing application.
- Corporate trustee: Advising a corporate trustee in the financial services sector on an application to Court for directions regarding the validity of historic transactions affecting the trust.
- Private client: Advising a family trustee in connection with claims brought against him for misuse of fiduciary powers.
- Private client: Advising the founder of a Jersey foundation on a (successful) mistake application to Court to set aside historic endowments to the foundation causing substantial unintended tax liabilities.
