Biography
Kirsty is an employment consultant in the employment team. She qualified in 2013 and is an experienced employment lawyer and HR consultant who helps organisations to navigate workplace disputes with confidence.
Kirsty advises on all aspects of employment law and is experienced in litigating Employment Tribunal claims for both employers and employees, including unfair dismissal, discrimination, and whistleblowing claims. Kirsty specialises in workplace investigations, helping employers to manage sensitive and complex employee relations matters fairly, thoroughly and effectively. Kirsty has worked across private practice, the insurance insurance sector and has supported a wide range of large healthcare and commercial clients, charities and SMEs.
Kirsty trained at a leading international law firm before moving into the insurance sector and later worked for a HR consultancy of another leading law firm before joining Ashfords. Kirsty is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives.
Relevant experience
Conducting sensitive workplace investigations and carrying out consultations in relation to redundancies and the Teachers Pension Scheme.
Providing support and guidance on sensitive employee workplace disputes including grievances, staff absence and performance management. Advising and supporting on the handling of Employment Tribunal claims and settlements, predominantly discrimination.
Training and advising on employee relations, including empowering line managers and supporting a positive workplace culture, introducing and implementing new contracts, policies and procedures and general day to day support on operational issues.
