Biography

Harriet is a solicitor in the property disputes team in the Bristol office. 

Harriet has experience working with commercial and residential landlords and tenants, SIPP and SSAS clients, ports and harbours, public sector clients, and a range of private clients across multiple sectors.

Harriet completed her training contract with Ashfords, in the real estate, corporate, property disputes and construction teams, and was kept on in the property disputes team upon qualification with the firm in September 2025.

Prior to joining Ashfords, Harriet studied BA English at the University of Birmingham. She completed her MA in Law and LPC MSc in Law, Business and Management at the University of Law in Bristol.

Relevant experience

Harriet assists with a variety of contentious matters, and has experience of the following:

  • Residential and commercial landlord and tenant disputes, including service charge disputes and noise nuisance claims, possession claims, repair (including dilapidations and social housing disrepair), issuing court proceedings, drafting witness statements, conducting settlement negotiations, advising on damages and costs, and securing charges against property in relation to disputed and litigated sums.
  • Business lease renewals, acting for both landlord and tenant, including service of notices, drafting court applications, advising on the terms of renewal leases, and instructing and liaising with experts.
  • Real property disputes, including boundary disputes, adverse possession claims, and trespass (including injunctions and applications for committal for breach of injunctions).
  • Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996 (TOLATA) claims, acting for both executors and beneficiaries, and agricultural clients.
  • Advocacy, including representing clients at court hearings, and delivering property litigation training sessions on a range of topics.
