Biography

Fergus is a legal director in the corporate team.

He has wide experience in a range of corporate matters, including domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions (on sell and buy side), joint ventures, management buy-outs, equity investments, corporate governance and group re-organisation advisory work.

Fergus works across our client base, from entrepreneurs to international private equity firms. He has particular experience in advising owner-managed businesses throughout all stages of their life cycle and helping business owners achieve their exit and succession plans.

Fergus is driven by building long-term relationships with clients as their trusted advisor. He frequently works collaboratively with other advisors to help clients to shape their growth strategy and approach to transactions.

Fergus spent six years at a magic circle firm, including time on secondment to their Frankfurt office.

Relevant experience

  • Rocksteady Music School: advising the shareholders of one of the UK’s leading providers of music educational services to children on the group’s strategic investment from Vespa Capital.
  • Quo Vadis Education: advising the shareholders on the sale of the group to Globeducate, one of the leading international K12 education groups in the world.
  • Silverfish UK: advising the shareholders of one of the UK’s leading cycling distributors on its investment from Connection Capital to support its management buyout.
  • Celtic & Co: advising the shareholders of this leading footwear and outerwear retailer on the sale of the group to Refined Brands, the investment company for a group of leading fashion industry figures.
  • Advising the founders of one of the UK’s leading retailers of refurbished technology on the sale of the group to its management team.
