Biography

Connor is a trainee solicitor in the employment team.

Connor is currently in his first seat of his training contract, having joined the employment team as a paralegal in October 2023. Connor has experience working with clients in a multitude of sectors in both contentious and non-contentious matters.

His contentious work predominantly focuses on managing Employment Tribunal litigation on behalf of employers, but he is also regularly involved on the claimant side too.

Outside of the Employment Tribunal, Connor has regularly provided HR and legal advice on pre-litigation workplace issues that arise in real time.

Connor has almost 5 years of experience working in disputes. Prior to joining Ashfords, Connor worked as a paralegal at a UK-based charity where he specialised in providing advice to individuals in relation to consumer and residential property disputes. 

Alongside work, Connor completed the LPC and a Master of Laws (LLM).

Relevant experience

  • National charity: Reviewing and updating employment contract and policy documents in light of the client’s commitment to changes to leave entitlements and changes in legislation. 
  • Disability-focused charity: Assisting with navigating a complex employment status issue in Employment Tribunal proceedings and subsequently achieving settlement for the client before the final hearing.
  • Fast food franchisee respondent: Providing pragmatic advice to the client to help them appropriately manage the exit of a senior employee and negotiate a commercial exit package, avoiding the potential risk of future litigation.
  • Providing support to the conduct of an independent investigation following an anonymous grievance against a senior employee.
