Trainee Solicitor
Chirag is a trainee solicitor currently undertaking his final seat in the commercial and intellectual property team, advising a range of organisations from entrepreneurial start-ups to international group companies in relation to a broad range of commercial matters.
Prior to this, Chirag’s third seat was in the employment team assisting on a range of contentious matters within the Employment Tribunal including unfair dismissal, discrimination and wage/pay claims alongside providing support and advise to businesses in relation to HR, workplace, and non-contentious employment related matters.
Chirag’s second seat was a split seat within both the court of protection team and the disputed wills and trusts team. He was assisting on complex health and welfare proceedings in the Court of Protection alongside assisting and advising on a range of issues relating to disputes arising out of wills, trusts and estates including will validity, Inheritance (Provision of Family and Dependants) Act 1975 and proprietary estoppel.
Chirag's first seat was in the corporate team, where he assisted with mergers and acquisitions, asset and share sales, venture capital and investment transactions, company restructuring and general company law matters.
He has worked as a paralegal within a managed legal service for the UK’s largest water and wastewater company assisting across a number of practice areas including civil and criminal litigation, property, competition and regulatory. He then went on to work as a paralegal in the property litigation team at a large regional law firm.
Prior to joining Ashfords, Chirag worked for a multinational oil and gas company supporting on the development and acquisition process of the electric vehicle charging network and infrastructure across the UK and Europe.
