Biography

Chelsey is a solicitor in the corporate team. Chelsey supports the team with M&A transactions, investment rounds and company reorganisations. She is a member of the firm’s technology practice.

Prior to qualifying into the corporate team, Chelsey undertook seats in both the employment and the restructuring and insolvency teams.

Before joining Ashfords, Chelsey obtained a Scottish law degree at the University of Edinburgh and converted this to an English law degree with BPP University. Chelsey then went on to complete the Legal Practice (Solicitors) LLM with BPP University in Bristol. Chelsey also spent a number of years working as a paralegal in a Property Litigation team at a firm in Bath, and a paralegal in a Private Client and Trusts team at an offshore law firm in Guernsey.

Relevant experience

  • Private company: assisted with advising the Sellers of a private limited Company on its reverse takeover of a listed SPV. 
  • Advising market leading investors BGF on a number of investments into scaling businesses, including clean-tech business SunSwap as part of a £6m funding round and clean tech business Puraffinity as part of a £16.93m Series A funding round. 
  • Advising Mercia on a £4.5m funding round in Purple Transformation Group (t/a Purple Transform).
  • Coral Innovations (t/a SURI): assisting the company on its Series A funding round.
