Biography

Charles is an senior associate in the corporate team, specialising in our healthcare, digital health & life sciences and technology & digital transformation sectors.

Charles advises on venture capital transactions, private equity investments and mergers and acquisitions. He is a member of both the firm's healthcare and life sciences team and technology team, advising management teams, companies and investors in each sector on new investments, follow-ons and exits.

Charles is also member of the team of lawyers at Ashfords dealing with enquiries relating to the National Security and Investment Act 2021, and regularly advises on drafting and submitting notifications to the Investment Security Unit.

Charles has experience in private practice and in-house, having been seconded to BGF.

Outside of Ashfords, Charles is a non-executive director at the Forest of Avon.

Iksuda Therapeutics: advising a UK oncology research and development business on its $47 million financing round.
eConsult Health: facilitating the acquisition of a UK health tech company, Q Doctor, via a share-for-share exchange.
Advising market leading investors BGF and Parkwalk on a number of co-investments into scaling businesses, including health-tech business Pathfinder Medical as part of an £8 million funding round
National Security and Investment Act 2021: advising various clients on the impact of this legislation on transactions, drafting and submitting notifications to the Investment Security Unit.
