Biography

Ceris is an associate in the commercial litigation team in London. She qualified in 2021 after training with the firm.  

Ceris represents both claimants and defendants on a wide range of commercial disputes across various sectors including aviation, legal and financial services, and real estate. Ceris also acts for high-net-worth private individual clients on a range of litigation matters including defamation, fraud, and misrepresentation.

Her broad commercial litigation practice also includes contractual disputes, company and shareholder disputes, debt recovery and injunctive relief.

Ceris acts on complex litigation matters often with an international element where she is required to advise on jurisdiction and choice of law as well as enforcement of foreign judgments. She has also advised on worldwide freezing orders. Recent cases have concerned Europe, the United States, Middle East, and Channel Islands. Ceris is well-connected to overseas lawyers through our international network of law firms, ADVOC. 

Her broad commercial litigation practice also includes contractual disputes, company and shareholder disputes and debt recovery. Her litigation work spans the Senior Courts as well as the County Courts across England and Wales. She is well-versed in case management and procedural strategy across multiple levels of the judiciary.   

She is experienced at advising individual and business clients at all stages of the litigation process from pre-action stage through to final hearing and enforcement.  With a strong commitment to resolving disputes efficiently, Ceris prioritises Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) where appropriate, helping clients reach practical and commercial sensible solutions outside of court.  She brings a client-focused approach to every matter she works on.  

Ceris has been recognised in the Legal 500 for two consecutive years, underscoring her reputation as a trusted and effective litigation junior.  

Ceris completed the LPC with a MSc in Law and Business at the University of Law in London (achieving a Distinction) before training with Ashfords. During her training contract, Ceris completed a six-month secondment in-house at a national retailer.

Relevant experience

  • Faraj v Ahmad and IIB Group Holdings WLL: Acting for an overseas banking group as an intervenor in highly contested family law proceedings. The case was determined in 2023 and Ceris is currently advising at appeal stage.
  • Representing a high-net worth individual on an application for judicial review against HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) for unlawful disclosure of a taxpayer’s confidential information to the Spanish tax authority. The case was determined in 2025 and Ceris is currently advising at appeal stage.  
  • International airline: Acting for an overseas defendant in Commercial Court proceedings for alleged breach of contract valued at more than $25m. In addition to representation in the proceedings, Ceris has given wider advice on the operation and restructuring of the business which is in the aviation industry.  
  • Instructed by a US law firm in their capacity as attorneys for a high-net worth individual in the US in relation to disclosure applications against two major UK energy suppliers.   
  • Represented a high-net-worth individual in seeking repayment of funds advanced to the defendant in respect of a fake property investment. Ceris successfully obtained judgment for the claimant following a specific disclosure application and advised the client in relation to enforcement action. 
  • Kea Holdings -v- Watson: Assisted in acting for the main defendant in a leading case on fraud and contempt of court.
  • International airline: Advising a major airline regarding a disclosure application in the criminal courts.
