Ashfords LLP has advised WhiteHat on its recent $4m investment by Silicon Valley investor Lightspeed Venture Partners, with participation from Village Global, ShopTalk and Money 20/20 founder Anil Aggarwal, and British tech entrepreneur Wendy Tan White.

WhiteHat, which was co-founded by Euan Blair and Sophie Adelman, aims to match non-graduate talent with apprenticeship opportunities at some of the UK's most exciting businesses. The company offers high-quality apprenticeships at firms such as Google, Facebook, WeWork, Salesforce, Warner Bros and Burberry and provides qualifications in a range of sectors including accounting, software engineering and digital marketing.

The Ashfords team advising White Hat was led by corporate partner Giles Hawkins who said, “We are very happy to have worked with Euan, Sophie and the White Hat team on this investment. University is not for everyone and White Hat is providing a compelling alternative. As a firm, apprenticeships are becoming an important part of our recruitment strategy and it is good to see companies like White Hat promoting alternative career paths".

Euan Blair, White Hat's Co-Founder & CEO, commented: "We've been delighted with the excellent level of support and advice we've received from Ashfords. They've worked tirelessly on our behalf and helped to ensure everything went smoothly. We're looking forward to working with Giles, Katie, and the team in the future!"
