UK law firm Ashfords has been appointed to two lots under the new £60 million London Boroughs’ Legal Alliance (LBLA) legal services framework. The firm has been appointed to Lot 1 - Regeneration and Lot 3 - Housing.
The framework agreement is available to local authorities within Greater London and South-East England (Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, East Sussex, Essex, Hampshire, Hertfordshire, the Isle of Wight, Kent, Oxfordshire, Surrey and West Sussex).
Ashfords was noted for its wide range of value add and social value benefits including knowledge training for in-house legal teams.
Ashfords' public sector team delivers a range of public services to local government and public bodies across the UK including advice on procurement and outsourcings, social housing management, planning and statutory challenges.
The team has extensive expertise in large-scale, complex regeneration projects and housing management including disrepair claims. Recent regeneration work includes advising a major London Borough on its regeneration project to deliver over 45% affordable housing, and advising various authorities on the redevelopment of hospital sites.
David Richardson and Robin de Wreede, partners and joint leads of the Local Government and Public Sector at Ashfords, said: "This appointment is a fantastic opportunity to continue partnering with our London Borough and local authority clients on projects that shape communities for the future. Our expertise in regeneration and housing allows us to help our clients deliver practical solutions that drive long-term social impact. We look forward to supporting local authorities in achieving their ambitious plans and creating places where people can thrive.”
The firm has continued to build its public sector team with the arrival of procurement and subsidy control partner James Falle and public law specialist Tom Woodhams in the last six months.
We produce a range of insights and publications to help keep our clients up-to-date with legal and sector developments.
