It was interesting to see this headline and comment in the Law Society Gazette and a shame that matters seem to be descending into a mudslinging match. I believe that most solicitors are supportive of the probate registry staff and empathise with the difficult circumstances the they find themselves in.
The comment made by HMCTS seems to sidestep away from the reasons these delays occurred in the first place, which included the implementation of a new system and paper(!) and the sweeping statement fails to acknowledge that delays of up to 13 weeks are occurring in connection with applications in which there are no errors.
