Leading law firm Ashfords LLP has advised Route1 International Limited, an award winning legal talent marketplace (www.route1.co) on its £275,000 seed expansion round.
The round was led by JLR Star, a London based private investment company. Route1 uses marketplace technology to deliver matched jobs to candidates in the legal sector in the UK and Australia. Following its beta testing, which led to adoption by over 9000 candidates and 200 employers matching on 100,000 job views, Route1 continues to develop its platform, enhancing its algorithms to make them more flexible and adding machine learning features, building content partnerships to further enhance user experience and strengthening its GDPR credentials as a discreet, direct, candidate led tool for legal job seekers.
Route1 intends to use the proceeds of the round to further improve its product functionality, particularly around content, data security and GDPR compliance, as well as hiring new sales and operations personnel.
The Ashfords team, which included Ross Van de Velde and Holly Laurence, was led by Andrew Betteridge, who said: “We are delighted to work with Route1 on this round and to help with their continued growth. As investors we are also delighted to see his further funding to enable the continued growth and success of the business”. JLR Star were represented by Peter Weiss at Simons Muirhead & Burton LLP.
James Cole, Founder and CEO of Route1, commented: “We are pleased to have closed this round in record time and with the usual excellent service from Ashfords. These funds will enable Route1 to further leverage its technology solution for clients and candidates in the post GDPR legal recruitment environment”.
