Venture capital funding in UK startups reached a record high in 2019 with over $13.2 (£10.1) billion invested throughout the year.
Investment in UK startups eclipsed a number of European countries including Germany ($7 billion) and France ($5.2 billion). Startups based in London received more than $9.7 billion from venture capital investment.
The top performing sectors were Fintech, Artificial Intelligence and Clean Energy with Fintech attracting the most investment.
