Rise of the YIMBYS?

The ever-spiralling nature of house prices and the fact that young people are increasingly shut out of buying in their local community no doubt plays a part here in making people think again.

However I do think most people are (or can be) open to development in any case,  provided it is done well; with quality homes that deliver for modern life and on developments which focus on creating community. No doubt mistakes have been made in the past where vast swathes of housing have been thrown up with out much thought for the people who are going to live there (hence the fears of so many NIMBYS) but that genuinely isn't what I see with the developers I work with today - all of whom now "get" the concept of placemaking.
