HMRC has announced that it has launched a helpline “to support businesses affected by coronavirus (COVID-19)”, with applicants potentially able to agree instalment arrangements, suspend debt collection proceedings, and cancelling penalties and interest where businesses have not been able to contact or pay HMRC due to administrative difficulties. The helpline number is 0800 0159 559 (open Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm, and Saturday 8am to 4pm, excluding bank holidays).
