More thought still required around biodegradable plastic which, if introduced piecemeal, could cause significant issues with our ability to recycle other plastics (as separating biodegradable plastic from non-bio plastics is not easy to do - meaning recycled plastics would contain bio-degradable material which disrupt the usability of the recycled products).
Perhaps the solution is to only allow clear plastic for non-bio plastics, and colour all bio plastic a green tint (though still hard to separate using technology, picket lines at MRFs can be used).
