The Government's "Cloud First" agenda has led to a rise in the number of public sector organisations embracing public cloud services. Civil Service World recently held a round table lunch bringing together a number of civil servants and technology experts working with the UK public sector to discuss the merits of this policy.
Ashfords LLP's attended the debate, which focused on how departments and agencies can maximise the advantages of cloud services and how they can overcome the obstacles to exploiting its potential.
Ashfords spoke about the importance of understanding the requirements, and in particular recognising the problem that the use of a cloud solution is intended to resolve. He also pointed out that the public sector, along with the financial sector, frequently lead the exploitation of new technologies.
