Biography

Alex is a Solicitor in the Employment team.

Alex is experienced in advising clients on a wide array of contentious and non-contentious matters, from pursuing and defending employment tribunal claims, to drafting contracts of employment. Alex advises a varied client base, including individuals and large private sector organisations. 

Notable work includes:

  • acting for an international game developer and publisher in the defence of multiple employment tribunal claims pursued by former senior employees, including multiple allegations of discrimination, and achieving positive outcomes by way of settlement agreements;
  • advising multiple franchisees of a global fast-food restaurant chain on a wide range of employment matters. This includes representing them in employment tribunal claims, and providing ongoing day-to-day advisory support;
  • advising a professional football club, currently competing in League One, on the strategy of managing the departure of a senior leadership figure to reduce the risk of prospective claims;
  • acting for a national charity on various employment matters, including providing ongoing employment advisory support, and representing the charity in multiple employment tribunal and court claims; 
  • acting for a high net worth individual and shareholder of a national scrap metal recycling company in pursuing both an employment tribunal claim, and separate court proceedings. The matter concluded with a highly favourable, multi-million pound settlement; and
  • advising a national, publicly listed hospitality company, on an employment tribunal claim pursued by an ex-employee, and successfully arguing that the claim be struck out by the tribunal.  

Alex studied Law at Cardiff University before completing the Legal Practice Course at the University of Law in Exeter. Alex also spent a number of years working as a paralegal in the employment team at a national firm.
