The focus of this Land Registry initiative is on the registration of public sector land. This has identified a number of priority areas where land is publicly owned and "can be used for housing and development". It is not clear how that conclusion has been reached. Will this land get planning consent for example?
Anything to help the housing crisis is good but I do question whether this would have a significant impact and how that is being monitored.
