As part of our Power of Three charity programme, Ashfords is supporting The Ocean Conservation Trust until 2026, a global charity working towards a vision of healthy oceans.
Ashfords has had a busy 2023 and 2024 – raising a current total of £2,181 for the Ocean Conservation Trust. Over the past 12 months, the firm has taken part in a number of fundraising activities in aid of the charity, whilst also providing marketing support.
In May, everybody across the firm was invited to walk, run or cycle sections of the South West Coast Path, to collectively travel the full span from Minehead to Poole Harbour. The Ashfords event, named the ‘South West Quest’, has raised a current total of £320 from entries and donations. This event will finish in September.
Ashfords’ Exeter Young Business Club (XYBC) hosted a Christmas raffle in December which raised £350 for the Ocean Conservation Trust.
During a cold December and January, an Ashfords team braved the Cold Water Challenge and took a dip in the sea 8 times, raising a total of £284.
Charlotte Walker and Sadie Sargeant volunteered at the Dolphin Boatyard in Brixham, to help the Ocean Conservation Trust with their seagrass project. The pair helped the team to prepare 150 trays, which the charity will use to grow seagrass and eventually re-plant it into the sea. This will assist with seagrass growth in the South West.
XYBC hosted a speed networking event in the city. This event brought together 30 young professionals that work in the Exeter, raising a total of £133 for the Ocean Conservation Trust through ticket fees.
The Plymouth office hosted a board games evening also in aid of the charity, which was open to all of Ashfords colleagues. This event raised a total of £80.
As part of Ashfords’ sponsorship of the Taste East Devon Festival 2023, the firm ran an internal raffle to win four tickets to an event over the two weeks. Participants were asked to donate towards the Ocean Conservation Trust to enter, in total this raised £70.
Ashfords’ marketing and client development team chose to visit the Ocean Conservation Trust’s headquarters in Plymouth during their away day. The group was split into two teams to develop a marketing strategy for the charity’s corporate membership scheme. Our experts advised on all aspects of the strategy from scheme names, logos and different types of package levels.
