  • British Airways Flight 2276 – Las Vegas, USA. On 8 September 2015 a Boeing 777-236ER operated by British Airways was on its takeoff run from Las Vegas McCarran International Airport when the left engine suffered a catastrophic failure resulting in a serious fire. The takeoff was aborted at high speed and all 170 passengers and crew on board were evacuated from the aircraft.   • Shoreham Air Show Crash. On 22 August 2015, a Hawker Hunter T7 aircraft involved in an air show in Shoreham, West Sussex, crashed into the westbound carriageway of the A27 during an aerobatic manoeuvre, killing 11 and causing physical and psychological injuries to a group of people in close proximity to the point of impact.   • Germanwings Flight 4U-9525 – France. On 24 March 2015, an Airbus A320 operated by Germanwings, a subsidiary of Lufthansa, was flying from Barcelona, Spain, to Dusseldorf, Germany, with 144 passengers and six crew on board. Shortly after the aircraft reached cruising altitude it began to descend. No distress call was emitted and attempts by air traffic controllers to contact the aircraft were unsuccessful. Around ten minutes after the descent was initiated the aircraft impacted the mountainous terrain of the French Alps at high speed, killing all on board. For further information on this case please click here. 
  • Private flight, England - Alpi Pioneer 400. On 3 January 2015, the Pioneer 400 aircraft departed Bembridge Airfield, Isle of Wight, for a visual flight rules (VFR) flight to Bidford Airfield, near Evesham. The aircraft contained a family, two parents and one young child, and one of the parents was the pilot. For further information on this case please click here. 
  • Private flight, England - Piper A-38. On 20 August 2014, the PA-38 aircraft was flying in the vicinity of the town of Buckingham when it entered a spin from which it did not recover, and crashed to the ground. The pilot, who was the only occupant, sustained fatal injuries in the impact. For further information on this case please click here. 
  • Police Scotland (Bond Helicopters) - Glasgow, Scotland. On 29 November 2013, a Police Scotland Eurocopter EC135 helicopter operated by Bond Helicopters came down on top of the Clutha pub in central Glasgow. The three occupants of the helicopter and seven ground victims were killed, and a number of people in the pub were injured. For further information on this case please click here. 
  • CHC Helicopters – Scotland. On 22 October 2012, a Eurocopter EC 225 Super Puma helicopter operated by CHC Helicopters was carrying oil rig workers from Aberdeen International Airport to the West Phoenix drilling rig.  About 32 miles south of Shetland, the helicopter was forced to make a controlled ditching into the North Sea due to a problem with the main gearbox lubrication system.   • Sita Air – Nepal. On 28 September 2012, a Sita Air Dornier 228-202 crashed shortly after take-off from Kathmandu, Nepal, killing all 19 persons on board, including seven Britons. Nepal was a country with a poor flight safety record and this tragedy was the sixth fatal plane crash in the country in a two-year period. For further information on this case please click here. 
  • Royal Air Force – Scotland. On 3 July 2012, two Tornado GR4T aircraft of XV(Reserve) Squadron from RAF Lossiemouth collided over the Moray Firth while conducting separate training sorties. Three of the four crew on the two aircraft were killed and the surviving crew member received serious injuries. For further information on this case please click here. 
  • Dana Air – Nigeria. On 3 June 2012, a Dana Air Boeing / McDonnell Douglas MD-83 aircraft flying from Abuja, Nigeria, crashed in a suburb five miles north of Murtala Muhammed International Airport in the capital city of Lagos.   • Manx2 - Republic of Ireland. On 10 February 2011, Manx2 Flight 1700 departed Belfast (Northern Ireland) to Cork (Ireland) carrying ten passengers and two crew. For further information on this case please click here. 
  • Pamir Airways Flight 112 – Afghanistan. On 17 May 2010, Pamir Airways Flight 112 was flying a domestic flight in Afghanistan from Kunduz to Kabul when it crashed into a mountain around 12 miles from Kabul airport. For further information on this case please click here. 
  • DC Helicopters – England. On 22 September 2009, a Schweizer 269C-1 helicopter departed from Blackpool Airport carrying an instructor and a student on a training flight.
