Carrie Wood

Carrie is Head of Health and Occupational Safety within the Regulatory Consultancy.

Carrie works with clients to understand all their compliance needs and undertakes a gap analysis to identify statutory requirements, make recommendations and provide workable solutions. Her work involves embedding or enhancing a safety culture, supporting directors, managers and staff. Her work crosses all industry sectors with the most recent clients being in retail, food production and leisure sectors.

Working with a team of specialist Carrie oversees the delivery of compliance advice and support in areas of health and occupational safety, fire, trading standards, licensing and environmental management. By linking this with the Governments innovative Better Regulation agenda Carrie coordinates the formation of Primary Authority Partnerships.

A Primary Authority Partnership is the icing on the cake for many consultancy clients, they feel assured that what they are doing is right and that they are supported and protected from the unnecessary burdens of inconsistent compliance.

Carrie is a Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner, a Graduate Member of IOSH and a Registered Public Health Practitioner, one of less than 250 in the UK. Carrie has worked in London Local Authorities; City of London, Westminster, Tower Hamlets and Newham and specialises in regulatory compliance in Health and Safety.

Carrie has an interest in lift and escalator safety having been the investigating officer in a high profile lift fatality and was a longstanding member of the London Lift Forum. She has extensive experience and a keen interest in legionella and domestic water quality having assisting HSE officers on inspections in her time as Principal Officer at Newham and Tower Hamlets.

Carrie has also worked in the NHS in acute and community settings as well as in the private sector working for the NHS, Bristol City Council Public Health and Virgin Care.

Carrie is retained as a Specialist Advisor to the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in Acute and Community Health.

  • Snakes and Ladders: Carrying out the initial gap analysis and rag rating report, developing primary authority partnerships for health and safety, food safety and standards and fire safety, completing risk assessments providing ongoing advice and guidance on regulatory compliance.
  • Hugo Boss: Carrying out the initial compliance regime gap analysis and producing a compliance report. Identification of appropriate partners and development of health and safety and fire safety direct Primary Authority relationships and providing ongoing support.
  • Groupia: Carrying out a gap analysis and producing a health and safety policy, statement and arrangements, providing advice and guidance.
  • Shalden Shooting School: Carrying out a gap analysis and producing a health and safety policy, statement and arrangements.
  • Somerset Larder: Carrying out a gap analysis of the food safety policy and arrangements, overseeing food expert advice and guidance and the production of a RAG rated report with statutory requirements and recommendations.
