Stephen Jefferson



Stephen is a Solicitor in the Real Estate Team specialising in planning, highways and environmental law.

He acts on all areas of planning law, including Section 106 Agreements, highway and sewer adoption agreements, certificates of lawfulness, stopping up orders, planning appeals and judicial reviews.

Stephen has experience assisting a wide variety of clients including developers, landowners and local authorities.

Relevant experience

  • Landowner: Acting for a landowner client in connection with a certificate of lawfulness appeal in connection with a scheme for a residential barn conversion.
  • Landowner: Assisting a landowner client in negotiating and drafting a Section 106 Agreement in respect of a development for circa 20 dwellings comprising the provision of affordable housing, an off-site play space and an education contribution.
  • Developer and local authority clients: Working on the preparation and negotiation of highways and sewer adoption agreements for developer and local authority clients.
  • Private company: Assisting the owner of a waste site in connection with a judicial review of the decision of the Environment Agency to withdraw the relevant waste exemptions.
