Kate is a Paralegal in the Corporate department. She works under Stuart Mathews, Partner and Head of the Taunton Office.
Kate is an integral part of the Corporate team, providing essential support. She ensures the complete management of client files, deals with client instructions and drafts ancillary corporate contracts, minutes and resolutions.
Prior to starting her employment at Ashfords, Kate read history at the University of Cambridge, graduating with a First-Class degree in 2017. She achieved a Distinction in her Graduate Diploma in Law in June 2018 at the University of Law in Exeter. Kate was top of her class in various law modules, including Public Law and Ethics and Professional Practice.
Kate has interned at the Oxford University Press, a global publishing organisation, as well as South-West law firms such as Tozers and Ford Simey. She has also completed four Mini-Pupillages at barrister chambers in the West of England, including a prestigious Mini-Pupillage at 3PB Chambers, Bristol.
Kate became a College Scholar at Girton College, Cambridge in 2015. In 2017, she was awarded the Florence Ethel Gwyn Scholarship and the Eileen Power Prize in recognition of her final year examination results. Kate is a 2016 winner of Girton College’s Margaret Mountford Humanities and Arts Communication Prize.
