Cynthia is a Legal Director in the Corporate Team.
Cynthia has nine years' private practice and five years’ in-house experience and has extensive legal expertise in financial services regulation, structured finance and fintech.
Cynthia has extensive financial product and operational process knowledge of legal and regulatory issues concerning the trading and product lifecycles, operations and management of financial institutions including FSMA, FCA Handbook Rules and EMIR.
Prior to joining Ashfords, Cynthia was seconded to the legal department of MUFG for 14 months to advise on MiFID II (research and inducements, product governance and trading venues), CRD IV and CRR topics, as well as Brexit-related regulatory issues. During that time, Cynthia had represented MUFG on several MiFID II working groups at AFME and ICMA and was actively contributing to them. She has also worked on a large-scale trading venue review project at a previous firm as well as advising new blockchain platforms which aim to provide liquidity through secondary trading on MTF SME growth markets.
