Proud supporters of the Lord's Taverners Christmas Lunch

Leading law firm Ashfords LLP is delighted to support the prestigious Lord's Taverner's annual Christmas Lunch to be held at Somerset County Cricket Ground in Taunton on 4th December 2019 - one of the most popular events in the area.  Last year's lunch was sold out in record time and raised an impressive £11,000 and this year’s lunch is expected to be an even greater success.

Founded in 1950, the Lord’s Taverners has developed into a vibrant members charity, with over 5,000 members throughout the UK. It is the UK's leading youth cricket and disability sports charity dedicated to enhancing the prospects of disadvantaged and disabled young people giving them a "sporting chance" in life. The charity to date has donated an impressive £50 million plus with approximately £3 million currently spent each year across their charitable activities.

Stephen Walker, Ashfords Legal Director and Lord's Taverners committee member, commented: “Personally and on behalf of Ashfords it has been an honour to support Lord's Taverners in their endeavours. Earlier this year we were delighted to be able to support a local special educational needs school with the purchase of a specially adapted minibus - we plan to do the same again next year with the monies raised at this year's lunch.”

In September last year, the Somerset Committee handed over a minibus to Selworthy School in Taunton. The new minibus has become a vital lifeline for the school's pupils. It has provided staff with an opportunity to transport children to and from school, and to local facilities that provide children with the chance to learn crucial life skills.

Other committee members include, Tony Mason, Nicola Spurway, Rob Nicholson - Ashfords, Mark Moore - Ashfords, Nick Farrant - PKF Francis Clark, Ben Trickey - Summerfield Developments, Alan Swan - Peter Brett Associates, Derek Biss - Greenslade Taylor Hunt, Duncan Brown - Greenslade Taylor Hunt, Ryan Thomas - HSBC and Jason Rigby from Taunton Fabrications.
