Ashfords has announced the launch of its new to market Regulatory Consultancy service which will provide combined consultancy and legal advice on safety, food, environment and trading standards. A one-stop shop to provide clients with a comprehensive service covering all of their regulatory based legal and consultancy requirements.

In addition, Ashfords has welcomed Head of Trading Standards, Ellen Morgan who joins the firm having spent the previous 11 years at B&Q as their Risk Manager responsible for the company's Trading Standards, Health and Safety and Fire matters. The three will be supported by over 30 specialist consultants based across the UK.

The Regulatory Consultancy provides strategic, top-level advice for every level of an organisation with the ability to achieve significant cost savings, bolster the brand and improve efficiencies. The team will offer an ‘inside view’ from former Health and Safety Executive, Environmental Health, Trading Standards and Fire specialists. They will provide a 360 degree insight from both sides of the regulatory fence and advise on what the enforcement agency is likely to do. The service will support clients in setting up and/or enhancing their policies and procedures to ensure that their businesses are not only compliant, but operate with optimum efficiency leaving them safe in the knowledge that the advice stems from many years of experience.

The wide-ranging skills base and experience means that the team focuses on delivering a bespoke service for each client and can help with almost any issue.

Ashfords said: "We are delighted to welcome Robert and Ellen and to launch the Regulatory Consultancy which sees us continuing to broaden and strengthen our service offering. We listen to our clients and this is a direct response to client appetite for a comprehensive set of services that can be delivered more cost effectively and seamlessly from a single provider. This is the first of a number of areas where we will be expanding into new services and products that complement the core legal disciplines at which we already excel."

The new business venture will provide a wide range of services including:

  • The Implementation of Management Systems for Food Safety, Health and Safety, Environment, Fire and Trading Standards;
  • Liaison and representation with Regulators on a proactive and reactive basis;
  • Accident reporting, investigation leadership and future accident avoidance;
  • Fire engineering, training, auditing and risk assessment; and
  • Emergency planning and crisis management including food poisoning incidents, product safety recalls and serious injuries.
