On Friday 21 September 2017 the Exeter Young Business Club (XYBC) hosted its annual charity ball at the Exeter Golf and Country Club in aid of FORCE Cancer Charity. XYBC is an organisation, established by Ashfords and run by junior solicitors, that gives young professionals within the Exeter business community the opportunity to network and socialise in a relaxed environment.

On arrival guests were greeted with a drinks reception allowing ample opportunity for attendees to forge new business relationships ahead of a sit down three course meal. Various entertainers added fun and flare to the evening including a magician, a charity casino and a DJ.

The night was a roaring success with attendees from new organisations and a fantastic atmosphere throughout. XYBC are delighted to announce that the event raised approximately £200 for the charity of the year, FORCE Cancer Charity.

Chair of the XYBC, Gruff Davies (Ashfords LLP), commented on the evening "The ball was a great success; the food was excellent, the networking was sociable rather than forced and there was a warm atmosphere to the evening. It was a pleasure to welcome attendees from new organisations. As a committee, we are excited to see XYBC go from strength and strength and are seeking to make XYBC the go-to networking organisation for those at the junior end of their careers across Exeter and the surrounding area."

Matt Stevenson, Dan Stevens (Commercial Banking) and Lynda Williams (Private Banking) of Arbuthnot Latham were delighted to attend the event.  Lynda Williams said "we would like to thank the team from Ashfords Solicitors for organising this fun and entertaining evening on behalf of the XYBC club.  It was great to meet and catch up with other young professionals in the local business community."
