Leading law firm Ashfords LLP is delighted to announce the appointment of Neel Mehta as a Partner in its Construction and Infrastructure team and Paul Butterworth as a Partner in the firm's Real Estate team. Neel joins the firm on 12 June and Paul will join in September at the latest.
Neel joins the firm's expanding Bristol office from TLT bringing more than 16 years’ experience advising on significant and complex construction and engineering, infrastructure and energy and waste projects across a full range of the varying perspectives of contractors, developers, consultants, public bodies and funders.
Previously a Senior Partner in Property at TLT, Paul was Head of Social Housing and Joint Head of the Housing Sector and focused on major development projects, including some of the most significant housing schemes in London and the South East. Paul is a CIH South West Board member and his work in housing spans nearly 30 years, including heading up teams at a local authority and a housing association.
The arrival of Paul and Neel comes on the back of Ashfords enjoying considerable growth over the last few years and expanding its presence and expertise across a number of areas. In particular, the Bristol office has seen the arrival of a number of senior experts over the last 12 months including three high-profile Partners with Kate Topp joining the Property team from Osborne Clarke, Nicola Manclark joining the Corporate Tax team from Burges Salmon and Andy Braithwaite joining from Thrings as Head of the Commercial team. These appointments recognise how much the firm and the Bristol office in particular has grown and changed over recent years.
