On Thursday 24th April, the inaugural gathering for The Arabella Group took place at Ashfords' Exeter office, attracting over 60 women from across the South West.
The event, led by Ashfords partner Louise Workman, had a strong turn out with guest speakers Professor Michelle Ryan from the University of Exeter and Naomi Dymond from the Children's Hospice South West.
Professor Michelle Ryan discussed her research on the "glass cliff". The research demonstrates that once women break through the glass ceiling and take on positions of leadership they often have experiences that are different from those of their male counterparts.
Naomi Dymond, Corporate Partnership Fundraiser for Children's Hospice South West discussed the importance of the charities work. The charity supports children with life-limiting conditions and is the Ashfords Charity of the Year.
Both talks were extremely informative discussing current engaging topics that inspired a fantastic reaction from the audience.
The next event will be on the 25th September 2014 at Ashfords' Exeter office. We are delighted to welcome Stella West-Harling, Founder and Managing Director of Ashburton Cookery School as the next guest speaker.
