Firmly established as a fun way to raise monies for good causes, the Ashfords LLP Santa Run, is sponsored by law firm Ashfords and organised by Exeter City Football Club’s Football in the Community department. All money raised from the run will be split between Ashfords' charity of the year, Mind the mental health charity, and ECFC Football in the Community.
This year is no exception, with a high demand for places from both individuals and groups for the race which is being held on Sunday 6 December.
The route which starts and finishes at Haven Quay Exeter follows a flat, traffic free route beside the beautiful River Exe.
Jamie Vittles, Head of Community at Exeter City Football Club says: "Despite its name Football in the Community, we, as a Charity are involved in bringing a large number of health & well-being initiatives to Exeter – most of which aren’t directly associated with football. We are proud to be organising this great running event and to raise donations for Mind the mental health charity, who provide advice and support to anyone experiencing mental health problems."
The Santa Run caters for both serious runners (5km course) and fun runners (1.5miles) and attracts up to 400 runners annually. Elizabeth Gibson, Partner at Ashfords LLP and head of the firm's CSR programme commented:
"We are delighted to be sponsoring this year's Santa Run with Exeter City Football Club, Football in the Community reflecting our commitment to the local community as part of the firm's CSR offering. All money raised will support such great charities, including our own, and we are looking forward to seeing everyone in their Santa suits."
